Move over, spiked seltzer. If bubbles aren’t your thing but alcohol is, you’re going to be in for a treat this December when Rochester, NY-based FIFCO USA will officially introduce the first-ever spiked still water.
A little more about the beverage thanks to Brewbound’s press release:
Introducing Pura Still: the first spiked still water that doesn’t need to count on bubbles to keep things interesting. With a splash of coconut water, a hint of natural fruit flavor and zero carbonation, Pura Still is the refreshment consumers have been waiting for. Pura Still launches nationally in December 2018.
PuraStill Blackberry BeautyBottleAt 4.5 percent ABV and only 90 calories, FIFCO USA’s newest innovation is the perfect way for consumers to enjoy themselves without straying from their healthy lifestyles. An 11.2-ounce bottle of Pura Still contains only one gram of cane sugar and two grams of carbohydrates.
OK, so here’s what I’m taking away from this –it’s HEALTHY, basically. 90 calories? It’s water! Water keeps you hydrated, helps the hangover the day of and even at 4.5% alcohol this drink is probably going to get you turned up but at a nice, steady pace.
I also really like that it comes in a bottle because I gotta be honest, there is nothing weirder to me than water in a can. Have you ever been handed water in a can during a flight? No thank you. I like anything in a can bubbly AF, but twisting off a bottle might feel a little more natural to not feel that carbonation as soon as you open it up.
Interesting move to open up with a blackberry flavor, but there’s gotta be more fruity goodness in store and I am HERE for it. It’s going to be very tempting not to put this in a water bottle and conceal this on those really tough days at work or when your DD is very adamant against road sodas, but ya’ll know we gotta be safe even when we’re pounding water.
And lastly, FIFCO USA has a great reputation in the alcohol biz as it produces Magic Hat, Labatt, Magic Hat, Seagram’s and so many more tried-and-true brands. Adding a still water alcohol to that mix is more than likely going to mean dollar signs $$$$$$ for this corporation as they take over the industry, one drink at a time.
