A video emerged of a group of students from Covington Catholic High School taunting a peaceful Native American who was holding an annual ceremony honoring Native veterans at the Arlington National Ceremony. Among a sea of white kids from a private school in Kentucky sporting MAGA hats was Nathan Phillips, a Vietnam vet who continued with his ceremony despite the taunts overpowering his song.
Now to be fair, the main subject of the MAGA clan didn’t do anything illegal, and I don’t think he should be punished simply for being an uncontested asshole. But social media, for better or for worse, will do its thing to make sure his opportunities are spoiled for the next five years.
So far they have not properly identified who this smirking MAGA boy is, but I think it’s pretty obvious that he is actually Waluigi’s real life counterpart. His brother from another dimension, you could say.
C’mon, the devious downward smile, the toucan nose and enough ear to hear for two. Their physical characteristics are uncanny, and personality traits even more so.
(wiki) Waluigi – He plays the role of Luigi’s arch-rival, often for the sake of causing mischief and problems. He was created by Camelot employee Fumihide Aoki who described Waluigi as someone who has a lot of self-pity and would “cheat to win.” He often displays very poor sportsmanship, being quick to taunt his opponents and cheer for himself.
Waluigi was also listed him as one of the characters they wanted to kill but were not able to, describing him as “One of the most unimportant characters in video game history”. Editor Mike Fahey commented that Waluigi was his personal most annoying video game character. He described Waluigi as a “lame-o villain” in an otherwise great game.
“Someone they wanted to kill, but were not able to” basically sums up the twitter feed on this story about this unimportant character who is now infamous for taunting. Now back to the investigation. Waluigi was created to be the bitter rival of Luigi. So let’s look at that, shall we?
(wiki) Luigi was created by Nintendo in 1982, serving as one of the world’s most notable sidekicks to his brother, Mario. Luigi always seems nervous and timid but is good-natured and not as quick to anger as his more famous brother.
So Luigi was a peaceful, good natured man for many many years before Waluigi came along in the year 2000 and and became arch rivals with the Nintendo Native. Does this sound familiar?
In conclusion. Smirk boy has to be Waluigi’s real life counterpart, I have no doubt about it. At the very least, he was the maniac who actually chose to play Waluigi in Mario Kart which he would undoubtedly cheat to win, just like the lame-o villian that he is.
