The Capital Region’s Best Dressed of the Week: Back to School Edition

Welcome back! Back to Fashion Friday, and also, back to school. I’ve been wanting to do a kids’ edition of the Best Dressed list for some time now because let’s face it, there are a lot of parents out there who care a whole lot more what their little one is wearing so they can get some amazingly cute pics for the ‘gram and teach their kid a thing or two about style. There are also just a lot of fashionable parents out there who have their mini me’s following right in their footsteps –and I am HERE for that, which is why this week is dedicated to them.

And maybe it was my emotional, child-loving week I had after watching the viral, “syrup trick” video, but I knew back to school was the best time to highlight some of the 518’s most fashionable kids. And plus, the prize still applies because I’ve heard amazing things about the kid section at ZARA at Crossgates Mall. If you want affordable, trendy outfits for your little monster who’s going to A) destroy the clothing and B) grow out of the clothing, ZARA seems like the place to go. High fashion for a low budget.

This list could’ve been a lot longer too I gotta say. I’m proud of all the moms and dads out there who really put their kid’s fashion first. Look good, feel good, play good is a lesson ya gotta learn from Day #1.

And here’s the exciting thing, you can VOTE at the bottom of this blog for the ultimate winner! Just click the button for the fashionable kid you think should win the $50 gift card to ZARA thanks to Crossgates Mall. Voting will be available until 5PM on Sunday evening. So, share this post, tell all your friends, and cast your vote for the most fashionable back to school outfit.

Luca

I mean, is there anything cooler than a kid in a leather jacket and a band tee? Our little guy Luca over here knew exactly how to pose for the camera and capture ultimate rockstar vibes in his outfit right here. Down to every detail, like the cuffed jeans, this look deserved a serious spot on the list this week. Ready to embrace fall in all the right ways –well done! Seriously, that pose though.

Posey

Now, Posey has some fashionable genes working in her favor, as her mama is the girl boss of all girl bosses, Catherine Hover of Palette Cafe. I love Posey’s patterns she’s got going on for her first day of kindergarten –it’s like when they say at the MET Gala that the celebrity really took the theme and ran with it, that’s what Posey did. Alphabet print skirt and back to school supplies on her white tee?! Yes, please.

She knows exactly what she’s in for at kindergarten, and with a look as confident as this one (with some super cute neon green socks), I have a feeling she absolutely crushed her first day.

Maggie

COME ON! I have to say I started Google-ing “suspender dress for adult women” as soon as I saw this getup my girl Maggie had going on for her first day of nursery school. I’m always a sucker for a Peter Pan collar, and her ivory lace collar is a great, girly detail to balance out the fall-ish colors in the suspender dress/skirt thing she’s wearing.

She went totally classic here with the knee-high socks and a big ol’ toddler bow. She understands the hot fall colors of the season clearly with the mustard yellow ballet flats, too. There’s no doubt miss Maggie is a fashionista in the making after seeing this back to school pic.

Owen

You’d think Owen over here would be starting his first day of middle school with this crisp, preppy outfit he wore for his first day at school. But nope, he’s just walking right into kindergarten like a style pro. And I mean, I’d expect nothing less from the son of another amazing girl boss (and overall personal idol of mine) Alex Cook of Alexandria’s Beauty Salon.

Owen’s got the layering trend ON POINT with his polo shirt underneath the white-and-blue striped sweater, and finished it off with a pair of light colored jeans –perfect transition for this summer-like weather we’re still having. I like that he made the look more casual and practical by wearing sneakers since we know recess/playtime is going to be the highlight of his day without a doubt.

Bravo, back to schoolers! This is going to be a tough contest we have ahead of us, but that’s why I am leaving it up to the viewers to vote because I couldn’t simply make the choice on my own.

All you have to do is VOTE BELOW! You have until 5PM Sunday to let us know who you think the most fashionable kid is this week, and the ultimate winner will be announced Sunday evening.

Who should win the Capital Region's Best Dressed this week?
