Late Night In The Morning – Olympics Wrap-Up (Amber Says Whaaat?)

Late Night In The Morning provides a daily clip of what you missed in late night television so you can enjoy your beauty rest without missing out on the laughs. Today: Seth Meyers (Late Night/NBC) has writer Amber Ruffin recap Rio in a segment called “Amber Says What”

All late night television shows took a two-week hiatus since the Olympics were not even worth competing with in the late night timeslot, when the premier event was broadcasted each night on NBC. And yes if you ever want a job with lots of vacation time, choose late night television, where shows average 8 weeks off per year. In 2014 I interned for Conan and of the 8 weeks I was there I only worked 4 because of how many hiatuses they took. BUT we are happy for it to be back to we can continue delivering the greatness on a morning basis.

I watched almost every show between last night and this morning and this next segment is the one that had me laughing out loud. It’s “Amber Says What” – where Amber Ruffin covers the Olympics in her very own style and it’s quick, it’s fresh and probably the last bit I want to ever see about the Rio Olympics.

Coming in second place was Stephen Colbert’s cold open, where he addressed Ryan Lochte “directly” in a faux interview. God bless post production.
