This is Conan’s first time making our prestigious late night in the morning pedestal. I interned for Conan in 2014, and self-admittedly his material is much more old-fashioned and less viral-prone, unlike the stuff millennials like us eat for breakfast. It’s not that the show doesn’t try to create viral content, but it’s not their ish. Conan is older than his competition, he’s been doing his show for 24 years and he’s creating the same content he made before the internet was a part of the game. However, old dogs can learn new tricks as Conan comes through with a laugh out loud, slightly racist Trump ad for black voters. Conan’s reaction at the end of the bit speaks volume regarding how he feels about it.
