The most successful and longest-running fashion reality TV show has had a makeover and returns for its’ 23rd season on VH1. While returning to the shows roots in New York City, the show features another all-female cast of 14 aspiring models.
New panel members, hosts, and a slew of brand new experts judge as the girls go head-to-head in numerous challenges. The show’s host is Global Superstar Singer/ Actress Rita Ora, while Supermodel and body activist Ashley Graham, Paper magazine Chief Creative Officer Drew Elliott, and celebrity stylist Law Roach serve as judges.
While trying to discover which contestant can strut her stuff to the title, the winner receives a prize package that includes $100,000 and a fashion spread in Paper magazine. As models have transformed from exclusively existing in the fashion world to becoming pop cultural figures, ANTM reflects significant cultural shifts in modeling, fashion, and casting.
In 2016, modeling has explored broader versions of entertainment, and fame while the creating yourself as a brand. Today, models are more relevant in society than ever before which will make the upcoming season the most remarkable season it’s ever had.
But, what about Tyra?
Although Tyra Banks hung up her hosting heels, she makes numerous surprise appearances throughout the season to guide the girls and offer advice.
Each week a new challenge is presented to the girls, and they must do their best to follow through. At the end of the week, the panel judges each girl on her performance and ultimately one is not America’s Next Top Model.
