It was the mugshot that shook the internet in 2014.
Above is an image of Jeremy Meeks, 32, who was brought up in a poor household and began his life of crime after becoming involved with the Northern Crips – a branch of the notorious Los Angeles gang.
The evidence is written on the wall, and by wall I mean face and neck. His gnarly tattoos may have served a purpose in the gang world, but Meeks has reportedly kissed that life goodbye after he kissed his now-wife, Melissa.
According to his supportive Mother, Katherine, in 2014 “Jeremy got away from the gangs when he met his wife and they got married six years ago. He moved. He started a family. This is a nightmare for him. He doesn’t want any of this. He is having a hard time in jail. He told me today was the first time he woke without crying.”
Meeks was arrested for felony weapon charges along with three others after a raid by police in the Western Ranch area, who were accused of several armed robberies and shootings.
Guilty or not, Jeremy spent 2 years in jail and was released earlier in 2016 and is now on house arrest. Let’s just say those 2 years did little to hinder his inevitable modeling career. The internet absolutely swooned over his mugshot, and the modeling contracts were already being proposed while he was behind bars.
The original post from the Stockton Police Department Facebook page went viral, racking up 101,000 likes and 26,000 comments and earning Meeks the nickname, “Dreamy McMug Shot”.
But how is he doing now? Did the modeling contracts ever come to fruition? Is he still a criminal? Did his wife leave him
Nope. Contracts came through, he’s rich as hell, and the family man just celebrated his 8th anniversary with his wife, Melissa.
Woke Note: this exchange in the comments with his wife is the ultimate shade
Meeks is reportedly making millions of dollars modeling and although there is no confirmation, this pic suggests there are some commas in his bank account.
I would have no qualms with being on house arrest with a crib like that. Good for Jeremy for getting his shit together and holding together his family. A classic example of how perseverance and hard work and a really good mugshot picture can work out for you. So much in fact, I’m inspired to release my own mugshot in pursuit of joining Jeremy as one of America’s Hottest Felons.
