Tomi Lahren, host of Final Thoughts on the online network TheBlaze, was suspended after a few comments during her guest appearance on the daytime syndicated talk show The View. Her stance on abortion caused outrage among viewers and those in charge of her show.
For those that don’t know the infamous Tomi Lahren, she’s the bold, extremely opinionated, bleach-blond, right-wing commentator, that never fails to grace your Facebook feed, no matter how you try to avoid her. She’s been known to cause chaos with her controversial statements and lack of understanding for those who differ from herself. Obviously, I’m not a fan.
Lahren has previously compared the Black Lives Matter movement to the KKK, but she didn’t get suspended for that. She referred to refugees as “rape-ugees,” but she didn’t get suspended for that. No, what got Tomi Lahren suspended is telling the audience she is pro-choice. That’s it. That’s the entire reason she was suspended from the network.
Now I’m clearly no Tomi Lahren fan, but I do find it absolutely ridiculous that she was suspended for something as level-headed as this. All of her horrible comments were seen as acceptable by the producers of Final Thoughts, yet saying that she believes in a woman’s right to choose is just too damn far apparently. While, yes, I’m glad she was suspended, the reasoning is absolutely absurd.

A few of the hosts from The View jumped to Lahren’s defense after the incident. Whoopi Goldberg, who wasn’t even there for the show, asked why exactly Lahren had to conform to every view point of the Republican party. Goldberg asked why Lahren isn’t allowed to, “evolve and grow.” Frankly, I agree.
Not for nothing, I can’t stand this woman, but just this once, I’m on her side.
How is Lahren supposed to grow and understand those who have differing viewpoints from herself if we constantly shut down every decent thing that she does? That’s just it: She won’t.
“I’m someone that is for limited government,” said Lahren. “So I can’t sit here and be a hypocrite and say I’m for limited government, but I don’t think that the government should decide what women do with their bodies.”
She has a point. I’ve read this a few times over just because I honestly can’t believe she said that. It is the one and only thing that has come out of her mouth that I feel has made any sense at all.
Politics is clearly a dicey subject right now and the U.S. is certainly divided under Trump, so how is this supposed to improve if we punish those who challenge the norms of their party? Lahren has some of the strongest right-wing views in the media, but she challenged her party’s views on one of the most important issues at the moment…and oddly enough, I kind of respect her for it.
Say what you will about Tomi Lahren, but the girl certainly has thick skin. At only 24, the commentator has made a name for herself and is a constant conversational piece in the political world. She’s received constant hate and backlash from liberals since the beginning of her show, but now she’s receiving it from both sides.
Lahren tweeted about the incident saying, ”Ladies, you were made to do difficult things. Believe in yourself.”
I still don’t like her, but I respect how she’s handling this.
Ladies, you were made to do difficult things. Believe in yourself.

This life can be lonely. Thank you to those-on all sides of the political spectrum-for the support. Agree/disagree, it means the world. ???

That being said, I still think TheBlaze should do us all a favor and make that suspension permanent.
