Hannibal Buress Hired An Imposter To Take His Place At The Spider Man Red Carpet Premier

Peter Parker isn’t the only one with an alter ego. Actor and comedian Hannibal Buress appears to have sent an imposter he recruited on social media to attend the Hollywood premiere of Spider-Man: Homecoming. And can you blame him?

I bet red carpets are the worst part of being a celebrity. All I’ve heard (from my celebrity friends, don’t ask who) is the facetiousness that red carpets entail and how getting 10,000 pictures taken of you while you speed date jittery reporters isn’t all that good of a time. That’s where Buress takes a W when he paid someone $500 to walk the red carpet in his stead.

Buress, who plays Coach Wilson in the superhero movie, tweeted Wednesday afternoon that he needed “a lookalike with solid comedic timing for an event tonight.” In the tweets, which have since been deleted, he also asked for photos and offered a $500 reward.

That’s where Joe Carroll comes into play.

After a few back and forth’s, I’m saying this was a killer casting call because, behind the shades and shaved head, it’d be borderline racist for one of the white reporters to question to Hannibal’s “face” if “he” was really Hannibal.

I’ll say Hannibal is now a new epitome of laziness and I’m already scouting lookalikes for days I’d like to sit out of my job. Or better yet, I’ll hire somebody to see the movie on my behalf because Toby Maguire is my Spider Man and that will never change. Stop making Spider Mans!!!!
