As a heavier girl, I speak for all the curvy ladies out there when I say that shopping for plus-size clothes is a pain in the bum. It’s hard enough to search for the perfect shirt or pair of jeans in a crowded mall with hundreds of stores, but when your favorite shops don’t even carry your size, you don’t even want to attempt to find it.
Sometimes I feel like the the only person who gets frustrated by this, but the struggle is real for a lot of plus-size gals out there. Dare I say all of them! In a body-conscious world, even celebs can relate to this dilemma and have started to rise up against it.
*Cue Rebel Wilson*
My girl Rebel came through in a big way when she debuted her new clothing line this past summer, REBEL WILSON X ANGELS. This fall, the line is officially available across the U.S. and of course online. Now that it’s arrived, we can prepare to shop for her stuff in big-name retailers like Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom and Dillard’s. It is also offered at the exclusively plus-size retailer, Dia & Co.
Unlike most plus-size clothing lines that take the same, flowy dress and simply make it in a bigger size in 25 patterns, Rebel X Angels was specifically created with larger women in mind (sizes 1X to 3X).
The clothes are designed to look good on girls with curves and show off the best parts of their bodies. Shoutout to my girl Fat Amy for making shopping so much easier.
The great thing about Rebel’s line is that even though they are meant to flatter plus-size women, some items are still tight-fit. I think this is a super empowering style element and honestly seemed outside the norm until now. She believes that women need to be confident in their own skin and should want to show off their body, not hide it.
So, that bodycon dress you didn’t think would compliment your curves? It’s fair game and even more flattering than any slouchy tee and leggings.
Most of the clothes are neutral colored items, making it super easy to mix, match and layer for the upcoming fall and winter season. From the LBD to jackets, jeans and t-shirts, you can’t help but to get creative by picking up a few essential items that you won’t even need to worry about a return label for.
Each item ranges in price from $49 to $129, which isn’t too shabby for a good quality jacket or pair of skinny jeans.
You’ve gotta check out this line and see for yourself. It’s a breath of fresh air to see a line of sexy, flattering clothes that a plus-size girl can actually wear instead of just stare at on a hanger. Get your booty to the stores or online to start shopping this awesomely inclusive fashion-forward line.
