Everyone (well most people) love Star Wars no matter what it is: the movies, TV shows, toys, and games. People who are fans of the brand will buy it, watch it, listen to it…whatever it is that’s offered, they’re all in.
I loved the original Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefront II on PlayStation2 back in the day, they were all-time classic games. And when I saw the new Star Wars Battlefront a few years ago, I said to myself the video game Gods gave us nerds a gift.
But it was no good! The game lacked content. There wasn’t very much to do and it got boring real quick. EA tried to add improvements later on, but it was too little too late. Fast forward and another new version is about to come out this November, supposedly loaded with way more activities and adventures worth playing for.
In the new game, there’s a campaign that tells a never-before-told story that takes place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Whoa, baby –if that doesn’t make a Star Wars fan’s ears perk up I don’t know what will.
Video gamers will be able to play at some of their favorite maps with nearly doubling the amount of locations from the previous version, along with additions of heroes and vehicles that couldn’t be accessed before. Players will be able to fully customize their classes when it comes to weapons and their attachments.
The online multiplayer comes with multiple selections to choose from, ranging from all out assault to close quarter combat, to starfighter assault. If you’re not ready to get owned by 11-year-olds, you can play offline in arcade mode which comes with a split screen mode.
One thing that has been completely rebuilt from the previous game are the star cards. You obtain them by either finding them in crates AKA a loot box or crafting them. A loot box is the game’s online market where you actually pay real money to obtain an item. Eh, no thanks.
From what we’ve seen in previews so far, the game looks visually stunning from both the video game graphic design and the gameplay. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. The game will be released officially on November 17 and the Battlefront II Beta started on October 4 for players who pre-ordered.
