If you do a quick Google search for “OSU” you’re more than likely going to find info on The Ohio State University.
And you’ve ever seen me in public, I was probably wearing either a black or gray hoodie with the words “Game Bred” stamped on the front.
Two different things, but the latter means I’m repping OSU, the brand, not the school.
Aside from the fact my outfits are a little repetitive, or as my mother likes to put it, “redundant,” I like to wear these a lot so people see them, because even if you don’t know it yet, OSU is a great brand to support.
The OSU brand was started in the U.K. by Kevin Ross, a decorated Muay Thai and Bellator Kickboxing Champion, along with Johnny B.A.N.G. Reilly, a voice over artist and co-founder of OSU. Their brand not only provides motivational and informative short films, intertwining their love of love, discipline and the art of movement, but from my interpretation its honed in on mastering self.
In their own words:
Here’s the best part: not only have these guys created a positive brand, but all of their merchandise proceeds (meaning 100 percent of their profit), is donated to a sick child in need of financial assistance. Currently, OSU is giving all of their proceeds to the “Desmina Fund”, a 13-year-old girl who is battling stage 4 cancer.

A message from our young warrior Desmina: Thank you all so much for your continued support, if haven't already, you can help our young warrior Desmina by donating money directly to her or buying any item of clothing from our online shop. You can donate money directly to Desmina @ http://johnnybangreilly.com/desminasfund/ Link in our bio Feel free to also check out our @dasoulassassin signature clothing line via our shop page on our website. All clothing from the soul assassin line will contribute 100 percent of all profits to a child or adult battling illness. Kevin Ross will nominate from time to time a person he knows could use a nice break. We do this in order for them to have some money for a day out to do what ever they choose. For the first part of the Soul Assassin signature line @dasoulassassin nominated a young lady called Desmina Hoang-Davis. ..the least we can do is help to brighten a day……….OSU #Repost @veganbaby (@get_repost) ・・・ Desmina has repeat scans. They found a spot in her cheek. We are convinced that it was a mistake. Fortunately her marrows were clear. This is promising. During her scan, it is very important that she remains very still. Any movement can cause a misread. We hope that this is the case. I do not know what I would do if there is a new spot. But I am hoping for the best. #teampandaminaum @osulifestyle
We (me included) unfortunately are thrown into this consumerist lifestyle where we hold allegiances to particular brands for no specific reason besides the fact we like the look, and that’s fine. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a certain brand and enjoying rocking a dope outfit. But when we step back and look at a brand like OSU, their message, and their devotion of sharing proceeds, why not support them too?
I’m not saying dedicate your life to buying OSU gear, but we all wear hoodies or t-shirts, so before you make your next random purchase at Marshall’s check out OSU and support Desmina. I’m wearing these hoodies because I want them to be seen, and I want to see other wearing them. Hope to see you in some OSU soon.
