Need something to do this weekend? Want to support a great cause? Have you dreamed about winning a dodgeball tournament ever since you saw the Average Joes take down the Purple Cobras on ESPN 8 “The Ocho”?
Of course you have, and here’s your chance.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Planned Parenthood Mohawk Hudson’s Sexual Assault and Crime Victim Advocacy team have put together a dodgeball tournament set for this weekend to raise funds for their program. It’s the first year they are running this event, but they are hoping to make it an annual fundraiser to help continue their support for victims of sexual assault year-in and year-out.
Here are some scary numbers: 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will be a victim of sexual assault at some time in their life. While the heightened awareness of this issue is great, the victims need real support from programs like Planned Parenthood to help make a change. The money raised will be used by the Advocacy team from Schenectady County to Washington County and all the counties in between to reach more victims and help more people affected by sexual violence and other crimes. That’s why every $30 team entry fee matters. It’s a small price to pay to help make a big difference.
You can register online through Eventbrite by searching Dodgeball for SAAM or by clicking this link.
Sign up, throw some balls, and help this great cause!
